Teresa Taylor-Pardiñas

Teresa is a true and fierce public servant. Before attending Mercer University School of Law, she served her community as a law enforcement officer in Metro Atlanta for over a decade and earned several commendations. While in uniform, she realized her sense of advocacy was not policing, but rather speaking out for underrepresented communities. She graduated with honors from Georgia State University and then found her voice as an advocate in law school. While there, Teresa joined the Mercer Law Review and earned awards for her academic achievements and leadership qualities. Her advocacy for students developed Mercer Law’s LGBTQ student alliance from a mere student organization into a community-based advocacy group. Teresa has since worked with Hispanic, LGBTQ, and other minority-centered nonprofits to reduce systemic barriers in education, healthcare, and access to legal representation.

In practice, Teresa represents employees in state and federal suits involving wrongful termination, discrimination, retaliation, and other civil rights violations. She also represents clients in whistleblower suits against powerful government agencies. Her love for employment law dovetails her work for corporate clients. She represents entities and individuals involved in a variety of business-related litigation such as contract disputes and collection matters. Moreover, she enjoys teaching and engaging others during corporate compliance trainings and one-on-one meetings to discuss best practices. Her experience in both plaintiff and defense work proves to be advantageous as Teresa quickly pinpoints litigation risks, claims, defenses, and other issues of concern for our clients.

Currently, Teresa serves on the board of directors for the Stonewall Bar Association and co-chairs the law student outreach committee to foster relationships between LGBTQ law students and established legal professionals. When out of the office, Teresa enjoys travelling with her wife, Tanerah, their son, and their two Boston Terriers. Teresa and family currently reside in Sandy Springs.
